Boy, I gotta comment on the people that bought it, tore it down, used it for nothing more than temporary car parks, then rebuilt it wrong- THEN the cleaning person washed off Ringo's recent signature on the wall- Is there something in the water there that causes mental retardation??? Unbelievably stupid!!

At the time there were protests and a real effort to stop the destruction. But it all failed... sad culturally and economically stupid as Liverpool soon discovered.

a couple of other shots of the Cavern (thats the Swinging Blue Jeans on the right). You can see that the stage had a small step in the back ... a built-in drum riser. I dont remember that being there in the rebuilt Cavern.
