Changing truss rod cover a 92 320 ?

Post by rob320 »

I've Just registered on this great site !
My question is this, Will a vintage style truss rod cover fit on a 1992 320, as i think they look superior to the raised version. Thanks. Rob

Robert, I agree with you. Usually a vintage trussrod cover will have different screwholes than a modern cover. You will probably have to drill at least one time.

There are some folks who will create a dummy screw by cutting it off flush with the underside of the truss rod cover and then gluing it in place. One can then tape the nameplate carefully to the headstock without drilling a hole. It looks stock and is easy to change later on. It is not my style, but is an alternative to more drilling.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
