Need a Grover "patent Pending'" G or D tuner

Post by throw_this_away »

Looking for a Grover "patent Pending'" G or D tuner

If you have an extra, I am interested... I have been looking for some time now and am about to give up and put 4 modern ric tuners on my 72' as it has it's D tuner replaced with an ugly non-ric tuner.

Anyone know how the modern tuners compare in weight to the old grovers? The bass is slightly neck heavy and it would be nice to remedy with new tuners.

So I guess I am also on the market for a set of 4 modern used ric tuners. Can any of you help a brother out? (I'm thinking of Jeff Rath with all his 4-5's with swapped out tuners...)

I think that the modern Kluson style tuner might be
slightly heavier. I have a set somewhere so I'll have to look...
I also hope to be getting some extra Grover tuners-
if I have an extra treble side, I'll give you a shout.

Don't do it! They turn up on ebay once in a while, usually every few months you'll see a couple or even a set, just be patient.

Darn! I've got an E or A tuner you could have....no D or G, though.....

I'll keep an eye out for one for you.

Chris, you can flip 'em around!

That's how I got grovers for my '72... I got a set of 4-per-side, and took two of them apart, flipped 'em around, and reswedged the pins on all four so they *never* come apart...

It is very possible.
I've done it with some.
I may be getting a spare soon...
That is- if the auction I won was legit....

Andrew, I believe the wavy Grovers are correct for 71, if you need a set e mail me off line.

After talking to John, he needs the non wavy, which I have none.

That begs the question, is there specific years that the non wavy's were used?
