I grew up in a suburb north of Chgo. There was a place down the road from us where CT used to play all the time, Haymakers, before they were signed. A friend of mine used to have several old quarter inch tapes of them there, really bad sound quality. But some funny stuff. I just sent a note off to him, asking him if he still has them. I remember it was the first place that I heard You Talk Too Much (a much better version than was released years later) and Rick doing near stand up comedy during one set where an amp blew and he had to entertain the crowd whilst it was being repaired.

I actually have some tapes of them from '74-75, and a lot of their material from those days shows up on albums much later, like You Talk Too Much and I'll Be With You Tonight, etc.
Would have loved to have seen them back then! Thanks Glenn for the story

Yeah, Steve. There's a version of Dream Police from those club days that does not resemble the released version in any way shape or form. I worked a few times with a drummer associate who has been friends with them since '74, when he first saw them at some dive in Lake Geneva.
