According to the owners manual they used .010" through .042" on the regular strings and .010" through .026" on the octives/unisons. Set #95404.

The six string versions use .012" through .054". Set #95106.

Who could play one beyond the fifth fret anyway?

So the "short scale" 12 string uses the same strings as the regular scale 12 string, unlike the "short scale" 6 string models which use a different mix of strings. Ok, thanks Ken.

Actually this guitar was not strung with 10s at the factory, at least they weren't on the 1999 re-issues. I used to own one myself....it was a special made set of 12s, and the gauges of each individual string has been posted here before, they still may be listed in an active thread...we'll do some checking.

I'll add that there was never a replacement set available for this guitar ready-made in a blister pack from RIC, at least none that I'm aware of.

While I've tried searching but have been unsuccessful, any ideas on the search parameters to use ? I don't have a string gauge but I could take it to a store which does. But as I didn't buy the guitar new I have no idea wether the current strings are the original size or not.
