Hello everyone!
I just bought a 92 JG Rick 320 in near mint condition, i've never played a short scale guitar before but as i'm getting used to the scale it feels great! However, there are a couple of points that need attention. It has a single truss rod and i think it's got 10 0r 11 guage strings on it, the thing is no matter what adjustment i make i cant stop fret buzz.
The bridge is at near maximum height(springs are nearly fully compressed) and the rod nut is nearly loose cause there's less fret buzz at that adjustment. What else can be done? Thanks . Rob.
Rickenbacker 320,some advice please

sounds like my guitar,
which Im sorry to say has a backbow and slight twist in the neck.
well by now that should be past tense. I took it to a good luthier a week ago, and he was going to use a heat clamp to correct it.
take it somewhere and have them look at it...
If you are lucky you may just have a high fret, low cut nut, or sumthing of that manor... Have a set up done, and if that is the problem it will go away...

Your strings are far too light for this guitar and they're guaranteed to buzz as a result. It's as if you had a set of 7's on a full scale guitar. Our recommendation in order to have equivalent string tension is 12-16-24W-32-42-54.
Once you get some tension on the neck, adjust the neck dead straight (refer to the service section of our website if necessary) and bring that action down to a reasonable height.

Thanks Josh and John. Josh, luckily there's no problem with the neck or anything with the guitar.
After reading up on short scale Rickenbackers it is indeed a string thing, as you say John they are way too light.I'm gonna buy me some 12's. Thanks for your help. This guitar is absolutely superb in evey way.

Thats awesome for you. and a good mental note for my future...
I didnt even think about it being short scale the first time I answered..
Ive even encountered this problem when I bought the dakota. It has a shorter scale then my Jackson, and I noticed the same string felt much easier...
guess I'am just too quick to judge..
