William Shatner is a successful Canadian actor. He's alright as far as I am concerned.

He has always marched to the beat of his own drummer. You either like or dislike the man. Usually there's no in between.

Happy Birthday Captain.

I like the guy!! I saw a documentary on Star Trek on the History Channel a week or two back and he was brilliant - hilarious, in fact!

If Maria Mercedes married William Shatner and went for "the hyphen thing" she'd be Maria Shatner-Mercedes!! Image

I don't get it...

I saw the history channel broadcasts featuring Bill and thought it was great.

Shat's the ****. Star Trek or no, he was on a classic episode of The Twilight Zone. That distinction alone is enough.

We don't use the past tense over here Howard unless we are trying to pretend that we have class. In American English the past tense is the same as the present tense.
I think he's an egomaniac but a talented one and he was Capt. Kirk, can't get much cooler than that.

I've never referred to him at "Kirk". With my dad it was always "Hahaha, Shatner!" He's just Shatner to me, and that's about it. I call him Bill occasionally, but he's always been Shatner.

Anyone normally call him "T.J."?

I saw that show recently "How William Shatner Changed the World" or something, about how all the gadgets they made up on S.T. have become, or might become reality. A lot of smart guys with letters after their names were inspired by the show as kids.
And Shatner's always ready to parody his own image. that makes him alright by me.
