Rickenbackers and jazz
I know Toots Thielmann (sp?) played a Rickenbacker before he switched to harmonica in a jazz setting, but does anybody know of another "jazz" player who plays a Rickenbacker? Perhaps yourself? What type of setup do you use: strings, model of Rick, pickup selector setting, amplifier, etc. etc. Any info. would be appreciated. I have a 66o and a 350v63 which i really like, but would be interested in any tips in setting up Rickenbackers of all types for jazz. Thanks!

I'd be interested in knowing what current(electric) model would seem most suited to jazz.. . . the Laguna PZ seems, on paper anyway, like a great jazz guitar: semi-hollow, humbuckers, wider fingerboard, sonically "darker" walnut tonewood than the standard 3xx, and a good accoustic tone. Of course, none of this speculation means it actually *is* a good jazz guitar, or that player A has the same idea of a jazz guitar as player B. Thoughts?
