Help from you FENDER BASS players out there!

Well folks, the Fender Jazz arrived late last yesterday afternoon!

Ok, here is a little test, does ANYONE know what was used on my newly arrived "MINT CONDITION FENDER JAZZ" bass bridge saddle? How about the cross threaded adjustment screws, was that an option?
Talk about H I G H action! The circus called and wants to use it for their new high wire act!

Ok, I feel better now. Aside from the messed up bridge, it is not a bad bass at all. I like the way the electronics are set up. I can get some really cool sounds out of it. I obviously have to do something with the bridge, and it really needs a good set up, but overall, not a bad bass at all!
I'll have a much better idea once I get it set up and corrected. The action is just SO high and the intonation so far off, I need to put a little time into it.

I contacted the seller who was very nice. Apparently, a parent selling for his kid. I asked for a credit towards another Badass ll bridge, I'm awaiting a response. Initial contact was very favorable.

Anyone out there have a used Badass ll bridge they want to get rid of cheap?

By the look of the top pic there are a number of height adjustment screws that are drilled crooked or they are bent.

Well the bridge switch would be a good idea even if the stock one hadn't been assaulted.

Are those all the way down in the hole and perhaps crooked because of that reason? Makes me think so if the action is as high as you say.

Tony, That giant heigth "screw" has got to be a cut off ball-end of a string shoved underneath the saddle - to replace a missing allen screw.

As for the leaning heigth screws, they're either bent or almost all the way down in the hole as Bob said. Either way, I'd bet the threads in those saddles are shot.

Lastly, what brand of bridge is that? It's definitely NOT a stock Fender unless they put on aftermarket bridges on some signature models. I don't know about that... But if you got a stock Jazz bass, that bridge didn't come on it.

Your correct. It isn't a stock bridge. It is a BADASS ll bridge. I can't adjust the screws, so either they are stripped or just cross threaded. The seller agreed to compensate me for replacing the bridge so I just ordered a new one last night.

It's actually a ROLLER WHEEL from a ROLLER BRIDGE
tucked under that bridge saddle! I thought it was a guitar string ring too because it still has some guitar string on it! But, I matched it up to my son's guitar and it is IDENTICAL to one of the wheels on his Rickenbacker 650D Roller bridge!

He used guitar string to SECURE IT to the saddle! Amazing....Funny, the seller never mentioned that little fact in his ad!
