Harry,
Just send me your addy to my e-mail: [email protected].
No worries on the payment, I send discs to OZ quite a bit since I'm in contact with fans of The Church as well as the band.

Also, it is one disc since all the Kinfauns/Esher demos fit on one disc. The Kinfaun to Chaos disc is the Esher demos plus outtakes on some White Album tracks.

Cheers

Man I'd love to get a hold of the complete Helter Skelter track. I've never heard it....and I dont know any that has it though.

This is a pretty good site for trading beatlegs as well as other bootlegs. There is also cover art, track listings, reviews, and other info on a lot of beatlegs.

Alisha,
No problem. Send me your addy and I'll ship it off.

Mike,
Yeah, I reference that site quite a bit. My favorite was a japanese site that had insight on all the latest Beatleg and related solo material.
One thing I don't like about the new generation of bootlegs is that a majority of material floating around is culled from lossy digital files that have been downloaded. I've even encountered VINYL that was mastered from lossy digital files, which really ****** me off. Hence, the reason why a lot of the original vinyl versions on ebay are going for quite a bit. That's the original source other than the master tapes, be it 1/2" or cassette.
As for the Helter Skelter track, I've been trying to track it down for over 2 decades with no luck and all I've had were misleads, even the guys back in L.A. who made this stuff couldn't even locate it but surely wanted to track it down. The longest Beatles track ever recorded.
Oh well, the search continues and I'm hoping Apple releases it one day.

Hey Edgar, talking about that 27 minute version of 'Helter Skelter' kinda sends me down 'memory lane'. I used to be a contributing editor for a publication you guys may have heard of called "Belmo's Beatleg News". I wrote for him for about 7 to 8 years, and had a lot of the inside scoops for what was going on in the 'underground'. Lots of leads and interesting stories about that long version of HS, but nothing ever became of it. With all the contacts in the US, and over in Europe that Belmo had, he certainly never scored with a copy of it (even to this day).
Actually Belmo had the chance to speak in person with Mark Lewisohn at Beatlefest in Chicago last year about the long version of HS. Lewisohn says a lot of people would be disappointed in hearing it. Highly over-rated as he put it. Well, I'd still like to hear it!
Have tons of all the good stuff that came out in the late eighties and early nineties thanks to writing for Belmo's publication back then. So much rehash as far as bootlegs go now. Some significant upgrades from time to time, but nothing NEW. It was fun to be a part of that 'golden era' when bootlegs reigned supreme!

Jeff,
I agree with you, I would love to hear the long version, I don't care if there are flubs or farts. I can only imagine them jamming outloud, unlike the jamming material from Get Back, and having fun with the song. There were 3 takes recorded on that day and I would love to hear all three versions.
As for current bootlegs, yes, that's the only thing that can surface, upgrades. My favorites are by far the surround mixes onto DVD-Audio. Especially for live shows, taking the stereo monitor mixes for 2 front, center and sub. And utilizing a audience recording for rears. Takes a long time to mix but the final result is worth it.
I can only speculate that holders of these rare recordings should start transferring to higher resolution and better mastering since the technology is here at a budget level. Of course you need a set of great ears to accomplish the task.

I have an interesting Bootleg set on 6 Data CD's that have a HTML shell and navigation that includes pictures, and brief info about some of the tracks.

The tracks themselves are MP3 encoded and include early live stuff, and a slew of later studio stuff. Another feature is to also include each studio album.

It's a neat setup and presentation that could possibly be improved upon in the future with more detailed info and material.

That sounds interesting Jamie. Do the bootlegs have a name? Where did you get them?

You can't find the good ones on Ebay anymore. The auctions just keep getting shut down.

Mike- I was given the set by a friend and it was a copy from the original. Not sure if the set has a name but if I have a chance I can perhaps post some of the jacket artwork and it may ring a bell to someone.

The only drawback to the set I have is that the navigation and links don't work properly on a MAC due to file naming issues.

It really was a great idea and it can give a novice background info about the tracks they are listening to.

Jamie,
I have a disc similar to that Beatles set but mine is for the Beach Boys Smile project. Really great disc. Has videos and a plethora of information about the sessions and the unreleased Beach Boys album.

Don,
If you constantly surf, you can find them. I've seen a lot of them go through there. Just need to know how to search. It all depends on how the sellers post them on their auction titles. Takes time but worth the search.

Harry and Alisha,
Let me know if you want a copy of the Kinfauns. It's burned, packaged and ready to mail out. Contact me via e-mail.

Cheers!
