It sure does. Although the Squier series aren't that bad. I've owned a Squier Jazz bass in the past. It was a pretty good player, and the neck was made well. Just 'ain't a Rick!!!!
I dunno. I cannot say whether the guy's nice (trustworthy) or not, judging by his auction description only and alone. On the other hand, personally, i wouldn't even consider buying that kind of jewellery. I'm a bit superstitious, and IMHO, it has bad karma (and i don't like rubies & diamonds, after all).
