I found this forum a few weeks ago and just wanted to thank you all for the great information, tips, etc. While I played quite a bit in my younger days (usual stuff - high school rock band, jamming with friends), for whatever reason, I just gave it up a ways back. A couple years ago, my wife remarked I was much easier to get along with in the old days when I was playing music. I'm guessing she didn't realize the Pandora's Box she was opening, but I went out and bought an economically priced (although decent) Samick. Really got back into playing, and then just a couple months ago, while she was shopping at Target, I wandered across the street to a guitar shop. She found me playing a 360/6, shook her head, and said, "Let's go." With my head hanging a bit, we drove home. A week later I came home from work and found the Ric (with love note attached) sitting on my favorite chair. What a remarkable difference all of this has had on my general outlook toward life. Sorry to ramble on, but I just wanted to introduce myself, and let you know how much I enjoy this forum.

Wow Keith, that's great. The 360 is one of my favorite RIC's. Yep, music is something you just can't walk away from, I've tried more than once. I've even sold every piece of gear I owned, but that just resulted in me buying more than I had before. Some people like to bowl, others join card clubs, my pasttime is making music with my friends. It just keeps calling me back. You've got a great wife there who understands that taking care of your well being will result in a happier life for the both of you. Take care of that girl. Welcome aboard.

Thanks Sergio and Randy. She is a great lady. We've been together a long time so she often knows better than I do what's good for me (and in the case of getting back to something I love, what's good for both of us).

A loving partner who knows that your need a Rickenbacker. A great story and certainly a win-win situation if I have ever seen one. Please ramble on to your heart's content. Many of us have drifted away from music temporarily. You can take the guitarist away from the Rickenbacker but never the Rickenbacker away from the guitarist. Hi Keith. Welcome to this double-bound maple corner of the internet.
Speaking of a hiatus from music, I have been heavily involved in some landscaping/home improvement projects for about two weeks. My playing time has been cut dramatically -sometimes only a few minutes per day.
Fortunately I have a studio gig this Sunday and will likely play for 5 hours solid.
Maybe you could have your wife phone mine and tell her I deserve a 360/12 Montezuma Brown. 'cause I do!

Hi Keith, that is a great story. I also have a wife that just shakes her head and usually says just buy it so we can get outta here.

I also bought my Ric across from a Target in a Guitar Center in PA. Before I liked Rics they had a Mapleglow 330 sitting forever that they finally blew out, I believe.

There is nothing so rewarding as reliving first guitar experiences. Of one thing I am sure we all can agree, there is nothing like playing our favourite songs with a Rickenbacker. It is very difficult to imagine what the British Invasion would have been without a Rickenbacker with toaster pickups. After imprinting on a the sights and sounds of a Rickenbacker, other guitar experiences pale by comparison.

Keith, welcome to the forum. You have a great story and wife as well, good for you man. Great guitar, I once had a fireglo 330 that I regret selling several years ago.
I am also one of the few lucky guys that has a wife that encourages my continued musicianship, and doesn't mind the occasional new bass guitar.
