Melissa, I hope Marc is now well and truly on the mend. Sorry to hear about your recent run of bad luck.

Best wishes to Marc and for you too Melissa! Glad to see he is responding well to treatment. Nasty stuff the pneumonia's are these days.

These things always seem to happen in groups with my family too. I am a haemophiliac (mild thank God) so things like sprained ankles are a 14 day-off the feet-in a cast-150cc per day injection ordeals. Lots of ice and rest.

I hope you are both back on your feet soon.

Thanks, everyone....

Marc was released from the hospital at noon today, but the doctor says he will take at least a month to fully recover.... He is on a very strong regimen of antibiotics. We are very thankful that he is home again. ....I knew he was really going to be okay when he asked me to bring his laptop computer to him at the hospital yesterday, LOL! He is now resting, which is good....

That's great,

It looks like the prayer warriors won another battle. All my best to you both.

Great news, Melissa.

I got the package today, BTW.

Melissa - Glad to hear Marc is home now. Would the med he's taking happen to be Tequin? There's another name for it too, but I forget what it is.

Anyway, I had pneumonia about a year and a half ago and it was scary to say the least. It hit real fast and I didn't have the usual symptoms (no fever, no cough). But every breath felt like being hit in the chest with a baseball bat. In the hospital it took about 9 hours to determine I had pneumonia. The IV definitely helped a LOT. So did all the morphine. ;-)

Just make sure he takes it easy - probably won't be hard to do, because he's going to be worn out for quite a while. He'll no doubt be glad to take all his meds too.

So how's your foot/ankle? Both you guys take care now!

Steve, the ankle is feeling much better....thanks for asking! It's still a little stiff, but I can certainly get around without limping.

The antibiotic Marc is taking is called Levaquin, and he is also taking an Albuterol inhaler, and hydrocodone to control his coughing and help him rest.... I'm letting him sleep in this morning! Image

levofloxacin (Levaquin) is 'similar' to the med (Tequin) Steve mentioned. A close relative of mine had a case of tendonitis from this med as well as tachycardia.

Just keep an eye on the 'ole boy and he should do well!

Well, a whole week has gone by since my original post, and this afternoon I was able to watch both of my boys play baseball with my husband by my side, and I felt like the luckiest lady alive.... I am very thankful for my family, and thankful that today we were all well enough to enjoy the day and enjoy the game! Image
