I don't know if anyone has ever heard of this Brand, Barclay USA. I picked it up at a garage sale for $15. Apparently made in the USA, Arch Top and Back acoustic, fake flamed Red Sunburst finish, painted on white binding, unbound F-Holes, Solid (!) Maple (?) top, back and sides, maple fretboard with Rosewood colored finish on it, Trapeze tailpiece, and Archtop Rosewood bridge. According to the inside of the guitar it is from May of 1969. Will post pics later.
I've heard of it but don't remember where or when. My first guitar was an Audition, remember those gems? Didn't think so.
I found a long thread on them here:

Evidently they don't know much more than us, someone has said that they were department store guitars made by Harmony. Another person said that there were two makers the USA maker and a Japanese maker. I think their being made by Harmony sounds right as during the 60's there was a guitar craze and a band on every corner and all sorts of cheap oddball guitars were made and Harmony was a big manufacturer back then.
It's an interesting thread although you have to close every one and open the next and there are a lot of repeats.

Audition! They were sold by Woolworths here in the UK (late'60s to early '70s). You could drive a bus under the action.

Peter: Are you saying they were a good slide guitar?

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
