The black one is a better player ... the red one needs a little bit of fret leveling and it has scratchy pots ...

I thought about keeping the black one ... but I have too many basses ... I pull the bridges off of these basses and use them on 4004 4-2-5 conversions ... they work really well ... Epiphone basses are hit and miss ... some are better than others ...
