Loan a few cassettes to a guy and never see him again?

Sounds like a good trade to me.

Yeah, but i'd prefer to see him once again & get my cassettes back. That was rare stuff, hard to find. Image Oh well. What's gone is gone.

Brian,

I experienced the same thing many years ago when I canceled my account. But I was more forceful and closed my checking account from where they were doing the direct withdrawal. Got divorced anyway so more reason to cancel it.
I can't stand AOhelL and even had my mother and sister close their account as well. Worse support and service along with Dell.

I just had a go round with Dell. Called up customer support. For every question I'd ask, the support would excuse herself, put me on hold, then come back minutes later with a suggestion. At one point she excused herself, saying she was thirsty and needed to get a drink of water. 5 minute wait for that. Finally, I could stand it no longer, and informed her at that point I simply wanted to return the computer.

25 minutes on the phone, 3 minutes of conversation.

She connected me with a different department, which was closed. Got a message to call the next day.

The next day they told me in order to return it, first I'd have to try to fix the prob through customer support. I explained I had, they said they had no record of it. Finally returned it, will get money back minus shipping and restocking fee.

Guess they don't want me to buy another Dell.Image

I am the network administrator where I work ... most of our computers are Dell ... I gave up on calling Dell tech support for the most part ... I can quite often fix it faster by staying off the phone ...

My employer is one of Mike Dell's most avid customers, because they're cheap, I guess. I just do not get a quality "feel" from their hardware. Cheap and nasty.

A Brasilian friend ordered a loaded laptop from Dell, and had it delivered to me. I hand-carried it to Brasil for him, and he was thrilled. $2700 for a piece of hardware that would be $6500 from IBM. You get what you pay for, though. It came with a free printer upgrade, which he told me to keep. I took it home. It ran out of ink weekly. The cartridges cannot be bought anywhere except from Dell via mail order, and they only come in 2-packs at $50.00. So if you want one color and one black cart, you are forced to pay $100.00 and buy four. The four carts last about 2 months. $50.00 a month for ink for a low-performance, slow, occasional use printer?

Trashcan material.

I had a printer made by HP like that once. It ate ink while I slept. I am sure of it. It has a different home now, also with a view. Our city dump is on a hill overlooking Kal Lake.

Now that it's changed from Dell, with which we have no experience, to HP, I'll mention that we've almost completed our long drawn out campaign to make our company an HP-free zone. This began in the Fiorina years when we received a new HP product that included a DVD burner. Nevermind that the brochure, packaging, manual, and website specified a quality, well known unit and this one had a cheap, no-name brand; they wouldn't do anything about it.

And don't get me started about their printers, laser or inkjet . . .

Carly Fiorina and Jill Barad...birds of a feather.
