I hope you don't mind me using that photo for the thread Paul. Can't help but tease.

It is a great idea for a finish though...

So Paul, without seeing you face to face, I don't know if you have your tongue firmly implanted in your cheek, or if you are serious. Then again, you might be a great poker player and I wouldn't know anyway. I'm just trying to save Tony from hyperventilating for no reason.

Sorry Tony. I couldn't resist.

But I do agree 100% with you, this is a way cool finish idea that would be fabulous in gold trim.

Did anyone notice that Eric said a chrome TRC would look good on Clive's bass? But Rickenbacker doesn't offer chrome TRCs. Or will they for the anniversary?

Holy **** 310 hits! LOL This is the most hits I ever got on a thread that I started, even though it completely took a turn in the wrong direction. Image

Oh well, I'm hoping for Smokey Joe Glow!

...and what would that look like, exactly, Douglas?

BTW, no chrome TRCs.

See John K, I really had to go to work and it was only a waste of time adding to this thread because I wasn't earning any money which I may need to buy one of these. In reference to JH's comment that someone "got it exactly right", which part was right, the discussion of models or the discussion of color. Remember we are sometimes talking about two different things so I don't think we can assume that his comment eliminates all color options beyond that comment or all model options beyond that comment. I am personally rooting more for a color in the red family as I am not a fan of black guitars but maybe the color will be so spectacular I can't resist. Anyway I think this has been the most fun thread I have seen on any guitar forum.

Hey Dean,

Not to worry, I just returned home from band practice to find it was a ruse.

I STILL think that is a GREAT color! Do you have some better shots of it? I'd love to use that on my 4001 project. VERY NICE. Hmmm, COY 07? Image

Paul, is it possible to have a chrome toaster and HS (for lack of the correct term) "plated" in gold tone or brass?

You guys got the wheels turning...Silver & Gold, just like the Rudolph cartoon!
