FIrst, is the box necessary or get a good tone, or is a Y-cable from Radio Shack a good enough signal splitter?
Second, does any dealer carry the boxes?
Thanks to any and all who answer.

Mark: You will see from the Rickenbacker Official Site that the Rick-O-Sound Stereo Kit is listed for $68.US and the catalog number is 97000. This is a quality splitter-box unlike the Radio Shack splitter cable. The dealers should be able to get items on the pricelist without difficulty.
I would first recommend the Radio Shack item to see if you find the overall effect useful. While you may have relatively more hum, the cheaper cable will certainly let you know if you want to go this route. Then you can decide if you wish to spend the money on the Rick-O-Sound unit.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
