Not that long ago you couldn't give away 70's Strats. The collectable level keeps changing as 1)a hot artist stars using a particular piece of gear (Les Pauls went through the roof after GnR's) 2)collectors get priced out of a given market but there is still demand. An example of this is how Fender tweed amps were hot..went through the roof...so the Blackface models went up next now it's the silverface models
