Dixie Chicks with Ricks

Watched Austin City Limits last night. Natalie Maines came out with a Fireglo 450/12 (I think; I'm a bassist and not up on my guitars). Sound was pretty well lost in the mix, and she was only strumming chords. Another backup guitarist also used a Jetglo 360/12 (again, I think). Always reassuring to see Ricks on TV.

I used to think they were pretty good. Musically they still are. But Natalie Maines just disgusts me.

I hear that a lot. Thankfully, people like Toby Keith never made much good music in the first place, so I'm not in an awkward situation when they start mouthing off.

I bought one of their CDs, just to support them back when they got into that political flap, but I have never gotten around to listening to it. I'm glad to hear they are using Ricks, with the way Country music is, I'm surprised we don't see those guitars used all over, like on the Opry and stuff...
