Rickenbacker Meets Traynor

Look for Yorkville Sound, Rob. The YCV40 is an outstanding amplifier.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

David, I have tried the Ei ECC83 and it now resides in one of my Kustom Tube 12 amps. An NOS 12AY7 was also tried and works well if you need less gain and do not rely on high gain sustain in your music. An E-H 5751 has a little more gain if the 12AY7 is just a bit weak on gain. An E-H 12AX7 is in my other Tube 12 for it's more aggressive character. The JJ ECC83S is also a real winner in the Tube 12, and it's the tube I chose for my Traynor YCV40. The Chinese 12AX7 is a really rough sounding tube on the gain channel on the Tube 12, and only heavy metal players seemed to like it on the Harmony Central Tube 12 reviews. I hate the Chinese 12AX7.
