Hey guys. With my new (to me) 620 (w/high gain pickups) I'm finding that what sounds good to me requires some rather different amp EQ settings than I've used previously. My fav amp with the 620 at this point is my Ashdown Peacemaker 40 (dual master-volume 40w Class A EL84 2-channel, w/gain, volume, & 3 EQ knobs for each channel). It's kinda Voxy, so you can imagine how the Ric sounds very nice through it.
Anyway, I've found so far that I seem to like the amp set this way (clean channel): volume and gain both at 12 o'clock (half-way), treble at 9 o'clock (1/4), mids at 12 o'clock, and bass at 9 o'clock.
I've never been a mid-scooper (sheer idiocy IMO), but I've also never been a mid-booster either. With my P90 Les Paul I tend to set the treble at half, the mids at just a tad below half, and the bass at between 1/3 and 1/2. With my humbucker guitars (Heritage H-170 & Epiphone Riviera) I use settings similar to the LP settings, but I turn the treble up just a tad.
What EQ settings are you guys using with your Rics? Do you find as well that you're using alot of mids?

With my 660/12, I keep the setting on all three Fenders (Blues De Luxe, Blues DeVille and Vibrolux) the same as when I'm playing my Strat, and it sounds better than the strat. I use the De Luxe mostly (40 watt, 1x12) treb & bass at 8 and middle at 4. Sounds to me like all the recordings I like. Now if I could push all of the strings down on that 12 string. It's tough!
