Hey Jeff...sorry I haven't had a chance to check in with you for a while. I've been ridiculously busy...putting in 60 to 70 hour weeks at work, and I've got four gigs coming up next week, so: yikes. I'm sure things are hectic with you as well, getting settled in here in the Mild High City.
I sympathize with your band search woes...it took me many years here to find a decent playing situation. There were good players here in the early eighties, just nowhere near enough of them. People used to talk all the time about the 'Incestuous Denver Music Scene', because everyone here knew each other, had played with each other, had stolen money, gear, drugs, wives from each other...it was pretty sick. At the time, I kept saying to anyone who would listen that what this town needed was a good strong enema, and then for a hundred or two great players to move here. Things have steadily improved, and it may not be a stellar situation yet but it's getting there. So let me be the first (if I am) to say thanks and welcome aboard...like the old Gary Larson cartoon said, "Welcome to Hell, here's your accordion."
I just back back from a business trip to New Jersey ... it is good to be home in Denver ... so far the bands I have been checking out are either doing originals without a good hook or 70s disco covers ... so I am still looking for the right band ...
it will be another busy week ... we are implementing a new software in our offices ... I will get out for a little night life and work hard during the day ...
