FYI: I'm the guy sitting down in the first pic. Trying to grow my hair out after the cue-ball incident earlier this year.

The Bantar is nutty - Mr. Hall and I revived it from a non-functioning state - and it's pretty interesting. You know how some companies make banjos that are six-string, and tuned EADGBE, so guitar players can play them, but it sounds like a banjo? Well the Bantar is tuned gDGBD (like a banjo), but sounds like a Ric electric! (As my friends say, it's for the banjo player that Wants To Rock.)

I'd REALLY love to hear what that 4005/8 sounds like!
Does JH use any other brand of instrument?

Where is that? It looks like a seaside resort somewhere.

Terrific photos and discussion Kenny. Thanks to John Hall as well.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Very cool!
Not only does Mr. Hall run a great company, he has impeccable taste in interior design! Looks like a very relaxing environment and perfect for a stuido.

Neat pics.

Kenny, what recording devices are being used there?

Indeed, the studio is seaside; for reasons of privacy, I will leave it at that. It's on the Pacific Ocean. Image

The recording devices are all digital, and a bit beyond my expertise. My involvement has more to do with playing guitar and some arrangement ideas than hitting the record button, so to speak.

The reason why I asked was that being JH's personal studio, he must know what brand names are the best for recording the "Rickenbacker Tone."

I just wanted to know what his preferences were.

Is that a made in USA sticker on the 4005/8 that they put on the new Rics? If it is someone has a sense of humor.
