Not a revelation to anyone here but..
The Beatles Anthology is a classic. I just watched it for the first time and I can't even put into words how it affected me. I was going to just take it a bit at a time over a couple of weeks, but once I started I couldn't stop. I was moved beyond almost any other movie or book. I didn't know I liked the Beatles that much, and maybe I wouldn't have if I hadn't seen the Anthology.
I have found amongst many of my friends who have borrowed the Anthology DVD set from me, the same reaction David!
They all didn't realise just how many songs the Beatles recorded, let alone how many HITS! A classic piece of music history!
I have watched it many times over, and am still in awe of the achievments of the FABS!
Welcome to the forum David, from all of us in Oz!

Or when they didn't remember something at all. Or how about Ringo remembering that he'd met Elvis many times, but he wasn't sure, maybe that was just all at the same one time?
When I said I didn't know I liked the Beatles that much, I meant as people. I knew about their music, but assumed that they were the usual cynical rock stars. But they seemed very genuine and mostly normal, if scarred from the battles of the 60s.
Speaking of the battles, and I don't just mean among themselves, I also noticed the change that happened in them as the pressures of fame, drugs, and all that took their toll. I think surviving Beatlemania must have been very difficult.

Can you believe how young they looked in Anthology? I can't believe the series is older than my youngest son

Thanks John! I've always wanted to order the DVD set with the bonus footage, and you just gave me the excuse my wife will go for -- "It's on sale!". I have the 10-year-old VHS set, and the tapes are showing their age.
Here we are talking about stuff that's "old" -- including prized VHS tape sets! Huh? What happened? Time flies too dang fast....
