Thinner necks on new 650 guitars?

Post by philco »

I heard the necks had been slimmed down on the newest RIC 650 guitars. Many had complained about the 'baseball bat' neck like on an old Les Paul, it seems. My 650D has a thicker neck than my 4004L bass, so a bit thinner neck would be nice. Can anybody who's seen one of the newest 650's that has experience with the old ones clarify this issue?

I thought it was the 660 model that was getting the slimmer neck, no?

I havent heard anything about the 650 neck being slimmed down. JH did announce that 660 necks after the 48th week of '02 being slimmed (front to back).

yeah I heard a rumor also, is kenny or JH around?

Im kinda in the market for a lefty and was considering a mapleglo 650C with the vib
but I plan no alterations for any of my future guitars, so it would need a factory neck slimmer then the origonal baseball bat...

otherwise Ill have to plan on a 350 or a 660, but since it woudl be my first lefty im lookin budget RIC
