If they would make it in the reverse style again, I'd buy one.

I saw one already, at my local store... As you would think, it weighed 9,324 lbs. (give or take a few ounces)! It was real nice looking though...

I once had a friend make me a neck-through Jazz Bass out of SOLID zebra, and that too weighed a ton. Zebra is very difficult to find in large planks, and so is usually used for tops.

Solid Zebra! Hair and everything? Did he leave a bone in for the nut?

Here's the bass:

What I find aesthetically displeasing is that the graining of the zebrawood isn't very straight as it tries to run parallel to the strings. This gives it a very jarring appearance (IMHO).

On a side note, I played a recent Gibson T-bird at a local store a couple of weeks ago. The black finish was appalling - lot's of "orange peel" - and the bass just had a very cheap vibe to it. Very disappointing for a US made instrument.

The necks feel very good to me.

Same feeling here on a Gibson T-bird and SG bass I played recently, Steve. I'd rather buy the Epiphone versions.
