McGuinn's Hat

Post by drumbob »

Can anybody tell me what's going on with the hat Roger seems to wear all the time now? Men usually wear hats in their middle to later years if they've gone bald, but Roger always seemed to have good hair. I know this is probably a silly question because it has nothing to do with Roger's music or his standing as a guitarist and innovator. I was just curious.

That's why I wear hats--because I like 'em. Image

To each his own, of course, but i think it makes him look like a '50s spy.

I was just thinking about the hat deal. Note he's wearing tinted grannies alot as well. Seem to recall that he has an eye condition[glaucoma?],and this is why he doesn't do photo
shots with fans anymore.Maybe he is wearing the shades and hat to cut stage light glare .Just a thought...

I think he made his guitar video in the mid-'90s and he's hatless and has quite a head of hair there. He's just turned 65, so he must've been in his mid to late '50s when the video was shot. My point is that guys who go bald often lose their hair in their 40s and 50s.

I'm going with "it's a matter of personal style."
