Congratulations Darren, all the best with your management venture, you and the band will do very well, I'm sure! Image

(Does this mean you'll be too famous and busy for our occassional Ric jams? Image)

Thought i'd let our international forumites know that Darren has again been invited to sit in with local blues band "The King Bees" this Friday night.
Hopefully you will remember during Alisha's visit downunder,we dined out at Nighthawk Blues Venue, where Trotty was asked to have a session with TKB,an amazing night!
This time we WILL have video cameras there!
All the "usual suspects" will be in attendance!!

Friday Night has come and gone, but with a sneak preview of what you can expect at SoCal2007 Jam. Darren rocked the house,as usual, blowing the crowd away, as well as the band! I'm sure Darren and Howard have many pics ready to post, so i'll leave that up to them! At one point during the night, the whole band, with the exception of the drummer, were kitted out with all Trott-owned guitars!
So LOOK OUT SoCal!! He's coming!!

Yes I thought the same thing Dave, maybe Darren made the same deal Robert Johnson was reported to have done, that would explain a lot! Image

Congrats on the band management job Darren. I sincerely hope they do well for you and vice versa.

My apologies for being late to this thread. I seem to be very short of time lately and so my time spent on the forum is being affected.

What's the point of having all of these toys if you can't let your friends play with them? Image

It's a privilege to be invited up to play as guest guitarist for an established blues band, but what really makes it fun is having all of your mates there to cheer you on.

Despite it being the middle of winter, a number of fellow Forumites braved the cold and ventured out to keep me company; Aitch, Greg and Andrea, Shane and Mark and Cathy (who we don't see often enough Image).

At some point I'll figure out how to get my video camera to talk to my computer and we can then YouTube the gig.

The 660 DCM played and sounded pretty good for it's first outing. The 345F was a lot of fun to play, however I kept popping strings out of the roller bridge saddles. My heavy right hand technique needs some refinement or alternatively a heavier gauge string set needs to be considered.

Thanks again fellas for your ongoing encouragement and support Image

It was an enjoyable night, watching a live band for the first time in 15 years. Darren and the Bees cranked out some classy covers and kept the crowd entertained with some very flashy playing.

I'm not an expert on bass by a long stretch, but going on what I heard Jim should put his Fender back in the rack and stay with a Rick. To my ears it sounded so much better.

Unfortunately I had to leave after two numbers from the next act, he was just too loud for my tender ears !!!!
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

Darren, when I see Airway Lanes in Houston on their World Domination Tour, will they still be playing your instruments?

BTW, Mr. Kincaid, I would expect back-stage passes for the Houston show. Image
