New 660/12 MB at Classic Axe

Post by bosco64 »

Just wanted to bring to everyone's attention that my friend Russ just got in a new 660/12 in Montezuma Brown this past Wednesday. It even looks better in person. We just put a picture of it up on the website. Here's the link: http://www.classicaxe.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=inve.showItemDetails&itemID=1154
It looks like something out of the late 50's-early 60's. Nicely flamed. It looks like Chris from Pick of the Ricks just got one in too. Pictures just don't do it justice!

What a beautiful finish.

Good Grief....that's simply better looking than my 3rd wife!!

Congrats JH, that's one of the best looking RIC's I've ever seen!!
I've had 4 wives but I still have my 60' 360!

If your company is gonna specialize in Maple-Bodied instruments, you might as well "go for the gold" when selecting your woods!

Well done!
My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

Yes indeed; that 660/12 turned out beautifully----very reminicant of the finishes on some of the Capri prototypes made by Roger Rossmeisl in 1957-58. Great job.

Any kind of charactered maple is going to look stunning with the Montezuma Brown finish. There's just something about a brown sunburst that highlights the beauty of the wood. Anyone who gets a 381v69, a 660 or a Ric acoustic (all of which have lovely, flamed backs) is going to be bowled over! I think it's the best finish option in ages, and I'm kicking myself for not ordering my 12 string Comstock in MB.

I will have a 660/12 in a few days. I just got off the phone with a guy who is sending me his beautiful MG baby.
