One caveat - if you have tail lift already, this will exacerbate it. There is a procedure to flatten a bent tail piece, developed by Gary Clauson.

for anyone who cares, i have just wired in the pickup that
sergio did a masterly job rewinding for me ... it sounds
fantastic! many many thanks to him for a top notch job!

Your Rick bass reminds me of a July 1980 Burgundyglo 4001 I used to own. One of RIC's finest finishes. Cheers.

its all done bar the tailpiece straightening ...
i think im going to have to ponder that for a bit
