I KNEW Petty and Campbell had at least a 325 (two, apparently) and a 4001S (close enough to one, anyway) in their possesion. Do I see the TP prototype and a CW in the background?

"Though almost all multiplatinum sellers pass through a number of bands on their way to the top, no one else has returned to his roots in such a dedicated manner."

I guess Mr. Light never heard of Kansas, Kerry Livgren, or Proto Kaw. Typical of NYT.

Proto-Kaw already has 2 new cds out, and one re-release of pre-Kansas music too. They reformed in 2003.

I saw Mudcrutch Saturday night in Santa Barbara at the Arlington Theater. The place seats only 2000 people and it looked to be sold out from our seats in the 13th row. The band put on a great show with a different style of music than the Heartbreakers. The reviews on these guys are pretty accurate. When we got tickets through Tom's Highway Companion Club, we also got 6 free Mudcrutch downloads. Real good stuff with a couple obvious singles. This was one of the coolest shows I've ever seen.

These guys received an incredible second chance, so I hope their album does well. Tom is a classy guy - end of story.

Dane, any Ricks come out to play? I know Tom's partial to his Hofner Club, but the the c64 threw me a bit.

No Ricks at all in the show. Mike played a Tele most of the time and Tom L. played an ES335 and a Strat. Tom Petty played a Hofner Club the whole time. What a show! My wife and I are still buzzed from it.

Looks like the video got taken off youtube shortly after I linked to it. It's a nice short history of Mudcrutch with interviews with the band members. I'll look around and see if it's up anywhere else.

edit: Official Mudcrutch Youtube channel is now up. Here's the first posted video.
