360/12 Truss Rod Adjustment

Post by sneakers »

Is there any smooth way to get the truss rod cover out of the way to adjust the neck on a 360/12 without loosening up the strings? Even with the strings loose, it's a bear to get out without scratching or damaging the cover.

Joe: Do yourself a big favour by loosening the strings and then safely removing the truss rod cover. Make your adjustments and then resign yourself to leaving the cover off for several days until you are sure your work is done.

I know exactly what you are saying, but I have learned that there always seems to be additional tweaking required and things are so much easier taking off and putting on the cover once.

For me the biggest adjustment in this process was attitude. With the right frame of mind, I have convinced myself that things go smoothly. My two cents.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

LOL! I just did another adjustment on my 360/12 and broke another Pyramid string, Grrrrr! .....And the action is still not right on the beast! I've had to just put it in its case for a few days until the frustration subsides!
