Famous Beatle Sound-alikes
Famous Beatle Sound-alikes
The first band that always comes to mind in this category is the fantastic but unfortunately tragic group "Badfinger". They were perhaps one of the most underrated bands of their era, simply because of their close association with The Beatles and their similarity in sound.
Here they are at their best.
Obviously there are a number of other sound alikes or heavily influence musicians. It may be fun to name them and post a video clip of their songs so we can hear and perhaps even see the influence of the Beatles in their music, first hand.

Re: Famous Beatle Sound-alikes
I recall hearing Paul say in an interview that he told them to record that song his way, which they did, a bit reluctantly. I think that their own sound (e.g., "No Matter What", "Baby Blue") was really good. The VH-1 Behind The Music episode on Badfinger was one of the saddest stories I've seen.
Another Beatles-sounding song was The Knickerbockers' "Lies".

Yeah, I remember the rumours that they were a secret reformation of the Beatles when they first came out, and if you played their album backwards there was a message from John & Paul or something.

Here's the rumour you were probably remembering to some degree Greg.

Cheap Trick doing a great live version of Day Tripper. Check out the guitar. Beatles on the back and front. They have never been under the influence of the fab four have they?

Haven't you guy's heard Paul's version? It's on the Anthology, not to mention bootleg copies. I like Paul's original much better than the finger's one. Can't say I'm a fan of the band. By the way, the drummer from Badfinger has the worst style and posture of possibly any drummer I've ever seen.doctorwho wrote:I recall hearing Paul say in an interview that he told them to record that song his way, which they did, a bit reluctantly.
