Will that work on a Rick, I wonder? I'd love to play Jag-sounding surf on one...

Someone tell me that I need a matching pair of a Jag guitar and a Jag bass (and a Jag E-type in the garage, too, for good measure).

Yeah...you need to go on a Jag jag.alanz wrote:Someone tell me that I need a matching pair of a Jag guitar and a Jag bass (and a Jag E-type in the garage, too, for good measure).

These seem OK at best to me. I have a MIA '62 Jag RI and to me that's the real deal. It sounds great and plays great. I've never had that much of an issue with the arm or the buzzing in the bridge. Guess I could be lucky there. Anyhow, it would have been nice to see a much wider selection of colors. Fender has many great hues that they used in the '60's and some of these are cropping up on the other Player's Series guitars, so why not here? It seems as though someone has jumped the gun though, so there may be more to it than what we're seeing from Musician's Friend color-wise.

One of the bands we played with this past Friday was playing a Jaguar bass. Pretty cool.alanz wrote:Someone tell me that I need a matching pair of a Jag guitar and a Jag bass (and a Jag E-type in the garage, too, for good measure).

The Jaguar basses are neato, and I would have bought one long ago if not for the absolutely dreadful finish selection. Red or black. Japanese market had Olympic White and 3 Tone Sunburst, and I believe the latter of those has actually been discontinued.paologregorio wrote: One of the bands we played with this past Friday was playing a Jaguar bass. For a long time I had my eye out for a cheap one, which would be refinned in Sonic Blue or Shell Pink, but ultimately decided on a Jazz Bass project, which i've been happy with since it all finally came together.

Honestly, I hate how the Jag bass looks. That Jazz bass looks incredible, John. Way better choice in my opinion

Thanks! I liked the active/passive of the Jag, so I might drop a preamp in this one soon, maybe an Audere.1965 wrote:Honestly, I hate how the Jag bass looks. That Jazz bass looks incredible, John. Way better choice in my opinion

Re: Fender Offset fans...."They're here....."
I heard from my Fender rep again today. He finally got some info on these. He's supposed to email it to me tonight. He said that there were a few black JM's in stock and the rest will be backordered until mid to late June. So, I went ahead and got a JM coming in. They've apparently got flatter necks, medium jumbo frets, and hotter pickups. I can say that MF selling these at $799 is rediculous. It must be nice to have no overhead.

I don't know Brian, the $799 price seems in keeping with the other MIM Classic guitars--Players, '50s. 60's 70's, Baja, etc..

It's fine for the prospective buyer. But for me, as an independent small-town dealer, it's a very short profit margin for us. It seems the MAP prices are coming down and our discount levels are not. We've got a lot more overhead and can't get the quantity discounts that the big box stores get. It just seems that it's getting harder all the time.wj350 wrote:I don't know Brian, the $799 price seems in keeping with the other MIM Classic guitars--Players, '50s. 60's 70's, Baja, etc..
