R.I.P. Jerry Cole

Post by kenposurf »

Passed away last night..heart attack.
Jerry Cole and The Spacemen were a first wave band and while they did not achieve the status of others of that time were very good. Most sides were recorded on Capitol Records. One of their releases featured an inset pocket on the front of the cover with a Dick Dale 45 included. Dick's Summer Surf Lp featured a Jerry Cole 45 as well. Both Lp's are quite sought after now when the 45 is included in particular. Jerry had been gigging and getting excellent reviews I understand.

I've been listening to a lot of Jerry Cole lately. That is sad news. His talent on guitar was great and his music was always well produced and represented something more than much of the other mass-produced material.
