I built a clone for about $25 in parts. Took me a while since it's not a simple circuit, but it was well worth it. It's my main fuzz pedal...

What exactly does this do? I am unfamiliar with it. I'm wondering what effect could go for this amount!

It's an octave-up fuzz with two switches for varying the filters - but the best attribute is that there's a knob for blending in the clean signal. The fuzz sound is really gnarly and in your face.

Supposedly Chris Squire used one on "roundabout", I think.

The reason for the stupid high price tag is extreme rarity.

I had one in the late Seventies, sounded great with the 4001 I owned at the time. Yes, the best thing was the blend control. It eventually died and I tossed it in the trash. Oops.
