360/12s Finally Shipping?
I just noticed on the Corporate website that a 360/12 LH MG shipped to Guitarville in Seattle, WA. Could there be some others on the way? It's been a long...time...coming. Apologies to CSN&Y

I noticed that, too.
"...and it appears to be a long
Appears to be a long
Appears to be a long
Such a long, long, long, long time
Before the dawn."
But I could be wrong.

Jim, I hope yours is on its way to your doorstep as we speak! (and everyone elses too)

I don't know....it wouldn't surprise me if Christmas comes and goes, and it's Valentine's Day or later before I hear. To continue our musical motif:
"I've got a feeling
A feeling I can't hide
Oh yeah..."

James: There could be a Thanksgiving too.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Maybe I am completely ignorant of the guitar building process, but these things are made on a CNC machine right, and then hand finished and assembled. I mean I have looked at the factory page on the Ric website. It's not like a hand built Ferrari. Ric seems to be out of stock on many many small parts. Any bearing on the situation? Why does this take so long, unless Ric is selling thousands of guitars a month and only has 5 workers I can't imagine why it would take two years to get a guitar. Please enlighten me as to the hold up. Not like I have one on order, but if they would reissue a 59 345 or 360, I would.

When demand becomes greater than supply, a backlog is created.
When you do things to speed up production, and lower demand, people order more, thus the backlog remains.
They're doing the best they can I'm sure. We can't ask for more.

Well. RIC has more than five workers, but not by a whole lot. There are about 60 people employed at RIC, and yes, they do ship hundreds (if not thousands) each month. Most Ricks at dealerships are snapped up immediately, and RIC is trying to keep their dealers supplied with what they call their 'bread and butter' instruments (330, 360, 4001). Plus they are trying to fill all the unique orders each dealer has in - The COY's, left handed models, V and C series, etc.

Thanks for the Supply and demand breakdown, that's obvious. I just didn't know the demand was in the thousands per month, I guess we have zero Rics at stores in Michigan, accept Hueber Breeze.
Re: 360/12s Finally Shipping?
I stand corrected, Motor City guitar in waterford and rainbow in GN also have been shipped a few Rics. Looks like about 10 different guitars have shipped to Mi lately according to the Ric website.

Perhaps "Wait" would be the more appropriate theme song for the RIC backorder situation

4001? They are further behind with their production than I realised.beatlefreak wrote:...and RIC is trying to keep their dealers supplied with what they call their 'bread and butter' instruments (330, 360, 4001)...
