"Auffed" - The Bobbleheads

Post by johnashfield »

My band has a new EP coming out and I thought I'd ask your opinion...

My 360/12 features prominently...

The song is called "auffed".

John,

It's a great tune delivered with loads of energy. I like it. :D

Yes; great energy! And an awesome example of the Rick-12 tone. Nice full production, too. Is that a Farfisa organ in the mix?

Really, really good! Does the 360/12 have toasters in it? If those are high gains, they're about the best sounding I've heard on a 12 string.

I love me some power pop. . .

Thanks for checking it out, and for the comments! Looking forward to posting more!!

To answer some of the questions...

My 360/12 does have the hi-gains! I tried the toasters and they didn't sound right to my ears though I wonder sometimes if I should try them again... I'm using the bridge position pick up... The toasters in my 12 string sounded kind of anemic to me, although they do look so much cooler.
**I should mention that Paul W did a lot of repair work to my 360/12 so it really plays like a dream now.

The organ is a "wurlitzer", in quotes because I recorded the organ using the program Reason, so it's a fake organ, but it sounds pretty good IMO.

By the way I saw some new Ricks at Rocker Guitars in SF this afternoon... Those new headstocks and the full length inlays!!!!! WOW! I've been away for awhile so I haven't seen these!

The hi-gains sound so good on that song, I wouldn't change a thing. Who cares if toasters look cool! (Actually, my solution is to have two 12-strings, one with hi-gains, the other with toasters. I made that investment a few months ago, before the economy really tanked . . .).

I think I read on the forum that if you want a slightly more "toasteresque" sound, you can lower the pole pieces on the hi-gains. I've never tried it, though.

Anyway, again, I really like the song. :D
