Thanks, Jim and welcome to your new role as moderator.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Re: Jim Krause Moderates The Byrds Topic
nice one Jim!
Re: Jim Krause Moderates The Byrds Topic
Richly derserved, Jim. If there was ever a moderator for the Byrds, you be da man.
Re: Jim Krause Moderates The Byrds Topic
Thanks. I hope there will be some interesting discussions about the Byrds, of course, and Roger, naturally; but also I think we could include groups and music that were directly influenced by the Byrds, or Byrds alumnae. Chris Hillman, Gram Parsons, the Flying Burrito Bros., the Desert Rose Band; certainly David Crosby and his music belongs in this forum, as well.
Topics covering the Byrds' influence on the current state of country rock/folk rock generally also belong here, I think.
Long live jangle and chime.

All good points, JIm. And lets not forgot one of the oft overlooked original members of the Byrds, Gene Clark. His song writing contributions made the others stand up and take notice. If you look back on the early material, it's striking to see how many songs Clark composed the Byrds recorded.
Re: Jim Krause Moderates The Byrds Topic
Gene Clark...absolutely!
