Tailpiece for 360 12

Post by panfilova »

So I finally have my first RIckenbacker 12 string. But I bought it at a shipping company auction for damaged goods in transit. So the neck was busted at the body and on the headstock behind the nut. It was missing the neck pu, bridge and R tailpiece. I've glued it back together as good as new with just small fractures lines visible and I''ve got a replacement pu and bridge but can't fined a R tailpiece since you have to send in the old one to get a new one. What are my best options?

Welcome David. That sounds like quite a project. I think we should get your post over to the "Vibrola" Technical Forum or the "Rickenbacker Wanted" forum and let our members have a good look at it. This topic is more for help with the computer, and you might not get much exposure. Sorry to direct traffic but it will probably get you more attention over there in Paul W's domain or the Rickenbacker Marketplace.. :D Good Luck!

A forum member might have one they could sell you, or you could go for the vintage look and opt for a Trapeze tailpiece.

i add to those members talking about trapeze as a suitable replacement. you won't be sorry. it is players anyway and trapeze is cheaper and much easier to restring.

So I think I'll just go with the trapeze and I'll attach a photo of my poor 360 soon. I just let UPS toss the case, it was crunched like a tin can. By the way, this forum is amazing compared to others, I'm so happy to be in the family of Rick.
