Um, the bass is now owned my Mike, it was formerly owned by Marc.dog wrote:Wow mark, what a great score. If the discoloration were a little more even, it would look like it was supposed to be that way!

Our guitarist last Friday thought it was a deliberate thing, kinda like a weak burst or something...
I really didn't think the bandmates would notice it as a different bass than my other MG.
They don't usually pay much attention...surprised me.
Now I have to practice my parts I guess.

They probably don't notice that, too! Typical of guitardists.thb_bassman wrote:I really didn't think the bandmates would notice it as a different bass than my other MG.

There you are! Thanks for showing up for your own "Mike publicly thanks Marc" thread!
Are you embarrassed yet?

Not at all. In fact, when the bass becomes exactly what you want, I will be proud to have been the purveyor of such a fine instrument.
Enjoy!
PS - I would have never had the guts to buy the frying pan, if I didn't know I had the sale of this bass on place. So in a sense, your purchase allowed me to own what I consider a piece of musical history. For that I thank thee as well.
Re: marc61: Thanks!
Congratulations Mike,
Glad a rare gem like this stayed in the family.
Wow, March 09?!?!? GREAT turn around time!
Can't wait to see the pictures!
I'd love to have my 71 restored in Walnut, I can't wait to see the FWMOP inlays and binding with that color!
Keep us posted!
