For Your Dining & Dancing Pleasure...
For Your Dining & Dancing Pleasure...
I don't know who these guys are and not sure where they're from, NYC, possibly. And purists may shy bricks, but even though they mess up the words, they look like they're having fun anyway. Not a bad band, IMHO. (I prefer crude vigor to polished banality.)

Excellent! Who are these guys?
Re: For Your Dining & Dancing Pleasure...
My son showed me these guys awhile back. They're called Yellow Matter Custard. The drummer, Mike Portnoy, plays with the band Dream Theater and has several "tribute" acts that he's put together with other "notable" friends of his. This is his Beatles trib outfit.

Here's my favorite from them:

Paul Gilbert is rather well known as a "shredder" in those circlesjimk wrote:Yellow Matter Custardbrammy wrote:Excellent! Who are these guys?

I sent that one to my bandmates last night, I think we will be doing it!

Should have said, "Paul, you've improved!"brammy wrote:I liked them ALL, especially this one

I believe this song was the first time we heard the Casino on a Beatles tune - played by Paul.

Re: For Your Dining & Dancing Pleasure...
I love their version of "I Want You (She's So Heavy)"...just killer.
Re: For Your Dining & Dancing Pleasure...
my kinda band. FUN .... would LOVE to have been there. These guys have just the right combination of (a) being faithful to the song and the Fabs themselves, and (b) not getting carried away with trying to "be" the Beatles, and (c) not getting so hung up on the legend of it all that it prevents you from having fun and doing your own thing.
Great stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.......on the other hand, its a bit depressing because it reminds me that I simply dont have that kind of musical talent..... sigh

A great band having a lot of fun.
Paul Gilbert must be a Beatles freak. Here's his version of one of my favourite Beatles songs.

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.
