It may be time to play some Flight of the Conchords since you've gotten one of those...if you're not familiar with Flight of the Conchords, check them out.

I am a huge fan of the show, that's why I bought it. I never would have heard of it if it weren't for those Kiwis!

Obviously, the guy I bought it from had never heard of the show...

I guess it's time to set it on electric mandolin and go "Boom".

I still love my Guitorgan more though! Even though it doesn't have the awesome 80s looks.

Probably my least favorite song of theirs. I get the irony, but it's just painful to listen to. Anyone been watching the new season? It's sort of hit-or-miss so far.

Yeah, I've only caught the first episode so far (no cable...) and wasn't too impressed. The guys explained it- they spent years building up all the songs/plots for the first season, and used all their a-list material banging out a great first season, so even though they are genius, they have a lot of work to do....

I'm a pretty serious fan. My bandmate and I occasionally goof around on their songs, and fantasize about performing as Tampa's fourth biggest Flight of the Conchords tribute band.

The first season was gold. You can tell they definitely wrote the show around the songs.

The second season:
The first episode was pretty disappointing. The second and third have been pretty darn good, just not quite as good as the first season. The rap song "Sugar Lumps" was awesome. Really amazing production. Unfortunately on most of the second season songs, the voice is too low in the mix and I can't understand the lyrics very well. And you can definitely tell they are writing songs around the show now. A challenge for sure.

Yep, it's easy to tell that they're not writing songs for the show instead of fitting the show to their songs. The latter was funny because it was always a challenge to somehow make songs about racist dragons fit into the context of the show. The new songs where Murray's singing are the worst.

Haha. Murray is my favorite character on the show, though. "Leggy Blond" is great.

I also liked how they BADLY fit some songs in the episodes, with no real relevance to the show- good example would be "Mermaids." They made some completely random comment, then break out into song- love it.

Then there's songs like "Mutha'uckas" where you'd swear they wrote the song about the episode.....grocer not selling an apple to a kiwi etc...

Murray is great (and present) but that opera song on the front end of the first show was terrible.

Present. Item number #1 : "I've got you some geegs"

Agreed. Maybe it's only because it's my favorite show, but that season opener was the biggest letdown I've seen on TV in a long time.
