Here's the aforementioned mic, taken the next day at an outdoor festival, still has my blood on it.

Now THAT is a MIC!
You should have taken it off the stand and swung it at her.

What brand/model is that thing?

It's a Shure, it's got an SM58(if I remember correctly) element in the old-fashioned housing. We had 4 of 'em for vocals several years back when we were still doing our own sound, for a "retro" look. they've since been retired. Actually I wonder where they ended up?

What do you use now?

A few years back in my small band, we had SM58's but I found that AKG D850 was far better for my purposes (and pretty affordable too).

We have a sound company that does our sound/lights,etc. and to tell you the truth I don't know what the vocal mics are.
My monitor sounds good and everyone says its awesome out front, that's all I need. :)

Just finished a live radio broadcast with part of the orchestra on a local FM station, part of promo for the big show. Local TV gonna shoot some rehearsal footage next week.

I'm curious how it sounded; 2 keyboards, bass, drum kit, guitar, 4 vocalists, and several string players into 2 room mics in a tiny studio. Gotta be a big audio mess.

.... must be NICE!!!! I've always known (although not been in) that you're not in a garage band anymore when someone else is setting up and doing your sound for you.

HEY!!!! The new and improved slimmed down Ronn looks GREAT. Congrats. I could stand to lose a few lbs myself....What's your diet secret?

Ha, thanks, yeah I look downright skinny now. Started Weight Watchers on my 50th birthday last June, weighed 286 lbs., currently at 221.

Great stuff, Ronn! :D

Maybe you can convince Franz Welser-Möst to have you guys come to Cleveland and play with his band! 8) :)
