Price increase looming?

Post by billikenn »

http://www.edroman.com/guitar/rickenbacker/pricepolicy_ric.htm

Ill be the last person to trust Ed after what he did to my little ric, but he did announce the 2004 color of the year before NAMM without repremand.

so is a price hike coming ?

Id hate to see Ric loose its bang for teh buck, thats what drew me to the brand...
Im in limbo between right and left handed guitars right now, so I woudl be very pressed to order one before the hike, and unlikely after.

Three years ago they were $200-$300 more than they are now.

Sounds like a sales tactic to me.

I suppose, given a market shortage, that the seller can command whatever price he or she wishes. One might predict that the used market for Rickenbackers will become more and more attractive and lucrative.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Gee ... maybe they will start to sell for list price ...

Ric could double their production and they would sell ...

Give me 10 each of the 4001cs, 4001v63, 4003s, 4003s5, 4003s8, 4003, 4004L, 4004CII, and 4004CII5 basses and I could sell them all in a couple months ... and I am not even a dealer ...

I'm going to have to call Ed tomorrow- I'd sure like to know what he's talking about.

Production is up and there's been no discussion whatsoever of a price increase.

But it may well be true that he's getting less as our policy is that whoever orders first gets shipped first- and the the orders from Europe are increasing greatly.

Jeff, you know I would take at least 3 of those off your hands when they arrived on your doorstep. Image

So I guess it is Ed Roman's prices that are going up and not Ric's prices ...

thanks for the information everybody.

maybe Ric should increase the price, but just for Ed. since he seems so eager and willing to pay it.

glad to see Ed is still just a hot air balloon.

I talked to Ed last week, he was mainly going on about the up charge for a custom color like MB, it was something he never noticed before because some of the other colors in the previous years didn't have an up charge. To a guy like Ed, $50 is $50, lol.

I have a lefty 620-12 on order from Ed Roman's store. Am I in trouble? I layed down a good chunk of the final price up front, as they said they could get it faster than any other dealer.

Well, I'd assume you're also paying a telepathy fee right there for their ability to know what deals are happening between Ric and all stores, US-wide ;)

not in trouble, youll probably have to have it setup when you get it. and it will probably take just as long as if ordered from anywhere

just dont let Ed's "expert" techs touch the guitar. but I still loathe that you supported that rather corrupt individual (to put it nicely)
