Mitch Kashmar

Post by peewee »

Greetings all; my first thread since my return!

I just recently played a date with west coast harmonica ace/singer Mitch Kashmar in N. Myrtle Beach, SC. We tore the place down and had a fantastic time just hanging out and "making the muse".

For those that aren't familiar with Mitch, I highly suggest that you look into his catalog on Delta Groove records. In my personal opinion, he's one of the best if not the best harp player on the scene today. The man is adept at playing diatonic as well as chromatic harps and brings to mind Little Walter Jacobs or the late William Clark when heard. His voice is another instrument that needs to attention paid to as well; warm and soulful with an authenticity that's rarely heard these days. Mitch is also the harmonic player with the world renowned R&B group WAR and has been with the band over the last 3 years.

Our gig went so well that he's wanting to use the band as his east coast touring unit and would like to bring us along on his next tour of Europe. I can only keep my fingers crossed that good things will come from this!

Here's a clip with the fabulous Alex Schultz on guitar from Moscow in 2006:
