Looks like Gary is asking $4K for his. There's one on ebay now for $3295 or best offer.

Don't exaggerate. $3999 is not $4000.libratune wrote:Looks like Gary is asking $4K for his. There's one on ebay now for $3295 or best offer.

Re: Lennon's Hofner Club 40
I could understand $1500 - $2000, but anything more is insane for what was basically the Squier Strat of the late '50s. I think people tend to forget that Hofners were used by many of the old '60s groups primarily because they were cheap and available, not because they sounded or played particularly well.
Re: Lennon's Hofner Club 40
How much would an old Club 40 be worth today if it had no association with the Beatles?
Re: Lennon's Hofner Club 40
Exactly. But it isn't 4k because its a good guitar. It's 4k because it has Lennon's name on it. I guess some think that it adds value. But it seems that 120 were made and that 120 are still available.dpowell wrote:I could understand $1500 - $2000, but anything more is insane for what was basically the Squier Strat of the late '50s.
