Re: Sustain Experiment
I am willing to bet that if the neck is thicker, the mass on the headstock is less important.

Re: Sustain Experiment
Is there an aftermarket "ultralite" tuner set that fits with the current screw hole pattern?
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

Re: Sustain Experiment
I have not yet checked to see if the Ultralite tuner would fit but I believe it may. The Schaller M4 (which is 67% as heavy) would fit for sure after I took some measurements of the stock Schaller BM tuner that RIC has apparently had changed to conform to unique specs--it doesn't match the standard BM specs. The Schaller "BM Light" tuner would NOT fit without expanding the hole.
Before you order any, do the experiment and see if it helps with sustain. Tuners are very expensive.
EDIT: OOPS! You said "screw hole pattern", not "bore hole" like I replied as if you did. Nothing I know of matches the screw holes.
