Well, he put the first scratches in it...so... .....but seriously, he practices scales on it an hour a day so, it was worth it. I love the guitar. It's set up to sound nasty.

Funny I never noticed a pull-cord starter on the back of my bass before. That must come factory installed on the Anime version only. I wonder if I could retrofit that rotor feature ...

Gotta be a faker. Who do you suppose did the rotor mod?. That's a Honda engine if I'm not mistaken. They'd never install a Japanese engine on a Rickenbacker, not from the factory anyway.

Mitch, how does it compare for you with the new Duo-Sonic?

Well,I don't know how to describe it really,but the Cyclone is a bigger guitar than the Duo-Sonic and I think it has a fuller richer,more complex sound.The body of the Cyclone looks like a Mustang from the front but it is actually thicker and heavyer because it has a Stratocaster tremelo built in. The Duo-Sonic has a brighter,sound because of the the maple boards and it is so small and fast.The Cylone has a nice vintage style rosewood board,It's Gibson scale (24.75) with a Fender radius(9.5)feals more refined than the Duo-Sonic.I think the pickups on the Duo-Sonic are hotter than the Tex-Mex in the neck of the Duo-Sonic but the Tex-Mex has a warmer sound and the Atomic Humbucker in the bridge of the Cyclone is really great,powersful but lots of tone great for overdriving my little amps.I love them both

Mitch, I tried out a Cyclone today for kicks. Nice sound and action but - yikes! - it weighed in at 8 lbs 13 oz ! That's more than many Strats! Maybe they had the "boat anchor" example out for playing (it was in an obnoxious color called "Caramel"), knowing nobody would (or could) surreptitiously walk out with it.
